Episode 69 was a doozy, wasn’t it? 2.5 hours of me droning on can be pretty hard-core!
I loved my experience at Quilt Market!
I was able to meet so many people that I have corresponded with. Through my role at C&T Publishing, I am priviledged to know so many uber-talented folks and having been online and active in our quilting and sewing community since 2005 there are also the folks that I praise from afar and finally had the chance to express that to them.
Between the Schoolhouse sessions, author signings, 30th Anniversary celebrations, the business seminar, Modern Quilt Guild Meet Up, Fabric 2.0, The BadAss Quilters Networking Gala, and running around the show floor – there were so many awesome moments that I are now singed into the inner-workings of my brain!
Like I mentioned in the podcast, I was able to find a little time to do some shopping on the show floor! Yay!
Have I mentioned that I am a scissor junkie? To the bone, folks, to the bone. Famore scissors entered my life during this road trip!
I am especially excited about the 4″ Large Ring Micro Tip Scissors (below, middle) because they get right in there for tiny snips allowing me to release the tension on fabric before I turn the edges for applique preparation.
Another AWESOME find were these little LED Finger Lights on a ring! The rings are made from velcro, so they fit skinny minny fingers as well as fatty patty fingers. And the light is great! Oh wow – what an awesome find!
During the podcast, I mentioned that I purchased a few Kona Cotton Skinny Strips, and that some were a ‘Botanics’ colorway and I wasn’t sure what it referenced, but I really liked it… Right – I need to open my eyes because Botanics is the line that Carolyn Friedlander released at Quilt Market this year and her booth was DIRECTLY across from where I found these! OY!
I almost forgot – bloc_loc!! I am SO excited by these trimming tools. They are specifically meant for those of us (my hand is raised!) that like to sew sections a bit bigger and then trim down for accuracy. The channels, or grooves, on the back of these rulers hug the 1/4 inch seam allowance and the ruler doesn’t ‘rock’ back and forth anymore! Yahoo!
Here is a video from their site.
Have you tried them? What do you think?
I love getting all of your feedback and comments! Thank you so much for the huge welcome back to the airwaves guys, I truly appreciate it. And you can spread your love a little further by leaving an itunes review… like how I slipped that in there?
